Michael N. Pattison background
During his 30+ year career, Mike has accumulated a diverse background in manufacturing, consulting and IT leadership. After receiving his Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma, Mike started his manufacturing career in the chemical industry with companies like Dow Chemical, Hoechst AG and Kaiser Aluminum. His career focused on manufacturing and engineering operations.
Subsequent years added experience in engineering and IT consulting helping clients map business needs to technology tools. Recently, Mike lead all the IT organizations, manufacturing laboratories, process engineering groups and advanced process control group at Sterling Chemicals. During his time in product management at Aspen Technology, Mike participated in the use of the RUP methodology. He saw how it was used as a core part of the culture as well as the core business process. It became obvious that this approach could be extended for use outside the software development world.
Mike used this diversity of experience to invent the SLR methodology, using the best of the major successful methodologies from manufacturing and software development. This unique approach brings a methodology that can identify real, practical opportunity to benefit your organization by improving your business processes.
